as for fundraising...I didn't do too well last year....just got $2275 but I held events (my moms day at the farm) sold things, the WAHMs here have some GREAT fundraisers (tupperware, pampered chef, passion parties, etc...)

I am planning a couple of events already, and bbqs, and stuff.

I'll do a much better job as captain this year...:oops: promise

I was supposed to do the walk this year but both my girlfriend and I backed out (she had too much difficulty fundraising with a new baby) and I just didn't think I could muster the heat and the distance.

But next year....oooh, this is tempting!! Is this open to any Calgary Mom?

Well, I figure if I start this this year it would be good. My Grandmother on my moms side had breast cancer. This was way bak when, they used to remove the whole breast to make sure that there was no spreading.

It runs on both sides of the family and because of that I get a mammogram every six months and I check every week.

On my moms side it skips a generation so my mom has been fine so far but I am heavily at risk and on my dads side it just there in every generation.

I'm glad I'm joining.. now that the walk for heart (mother & daugher walk) is no longer running I will want to support something else. :)

wouldn't recommend walking with a flag but definitely have someone there at the finishing to hand it over so when they bring everyone in we can carry it.
