I am auctioning off a Paskapoo Poplar Tree!

Generously provided by Bow Point Nursery (my parents) :D the only growers of native plants in Southern Alberta.

Full size in Summer

Bidding is starting at $40, the retail value is $100

A bit about the tree:

Paskapoo Poplar is a local selection of a balsam poplar.

Paskapoo is a genetic dwarf - short and stumpy - topping out a about 20 ft tall and 15 ft wide.

Paskapoo resolves all of the issues associated with poplars and their use in the urban landscape - it does not have an invasive root system, does not grow fast and die young and will never become a hazard tree due to it's stature.

ALL trees will have the sap buds - its just a part of their life cycle.

but since this is a MALE tree...there are NO FUZZIES!!!

The life expectancy should be at least 100 years.

the PERFECT tree for city yards!

Hmmm I wish I had known about your parents' nursery a few months ago when I was trying to plan my yard with native plants! I knew your parents had a nursery, but I didn't know which one or that it specialized in native plants.

I *might* bid on that tree... not sure if I have anywhere in the yard left to put it!

I can't find a picture of a full grown one. Do your parents have a picture you could post?

Does the tree have any thing other than leaves that it will shed? What I mean is, you know how some trees have white fluff or sticky things that fall from them, those type of things.

So I'm thinking it's just a "little" tree right? So I could bring it home myself and put it into the ground? Or is it a bigger one that needs to be delivered and put in by a professional?
