I'm still thinking on a charity...

If I make $1000, then half will go to you... does that sound fair? - not trying to dis your fundraising or anything.. this is my hair I'm shaving off after while.
I'd like to donate to make a wish or something child...

I wonder what my husband will think when I tell him when he wakes up...

I also have credit card taking capabilities...

or you can always just mail me a cheque...
Don't worry Bustin Mama's... I'm true to my word... $1000+ half will go to you guys... so I'll definitely help you out.

I really wanted to just donate to Bustin Mommas. :dunno:

Digrr
07-02-2008, 09:17 PM
Well... if we reach $1000+ I will ... It's not that I'm unwilling to donate.

If it was your hair you were shaving off, wouldn't you want a choice? Irregardless of who your friends are. I thought Kid's Help Phone was a great charity as well.

07-02-2008, 09:21 PM
Oh, I totally understand, but my understanding was it was going to Bustin Mommas. It all changed to a Facebook thingy etc.

SwankMommy

Not that your charity is bad or not desirable, I just only donate to Cancer, That's my thing. If I am spending 50.00 I want it to be for the charity I want.

So I am confused (and really not trying to cause trouble). What do you mean by 1000+??? If you don't get a 1000 you are not going to do it? Which is fine, but I am just confused that's all.

Ya, well my goal is $1000. Likely what will happen is I'll still give 1/2 to each charity... I know I thought about that just now... what if... hmm.

But I'm hoping for $1000.

It's not totally a face book thing. If you read all of this thread you'll read where I first made exception to the Bustin Mommas... I have no problem donating to them, but it wasn't necessarily my first thought until someone mentioned it. KWIM?

You can chose which charity you want to donate to. You aren't obligated to donate to me.

Before Jenn had mentioned walk to end breast cancer I had never mentioned what charity I would be donating too.

I can understand if people only want to donate to the one cause.

I'm a little hurt tho. But I'm a big girl and I'll get over it. I'm still pumped to try my hardest to get lots of donations for both these great charities! :)

I read all the threads! :)

I'm just saying that I said right from the start that I wanted to donate 50.00 to Bustin Mommas. I only donate to cancer. Ever. ONLY.

I totally think it's your prerogative to pick a charity etc. It will now just go against what I donate to. So, I can't do it. I feel very strongly about my charities. Sorry.

I think what you are doing is great though. I really do.

Sorry you feel that way. Kids help phone is a really good charity as well. Did you know that they get calls from University students as well?!

Honestly, I've never really had a strong urge to donate, mostly cause I never seem to have any extra money... I guess that's why it took me a while to figure out who I was going to donate to. And I didn't want to be pushed into one charity or another without really thinking about it. That's why I only partially agreed to the cancer. Don't get me wrong... I think donating to cancer is a great charity - heaven knows it's gotten several in my family and friends...

Glad you understand now.

I know it is. I feel most charities are fantastic causes. This is something that touches you.

I just know for me, I have to stick to one that is close to my heart and soul. Cancer has taken two AMAZING women in my life and left a a devastating void in my life. Therefore, I continue to only donate any money I can to cancer causes. That's why I got excited about this.

I hope you can respect my position.

You will get my vote either way! Your thread did state that YOU would like to choose the charity... If people decide to donate elsewhere that is for them to decide. You are doing this for a wonderful cause!

No one is disputing how wonderful this is or how wonderful her cause is.

Maybe you need to read the 5 or 6 threads that come out of the original post.

I don't think you were here earlier today when it all stemmed out of Erin asking us for tips on her hair, and to be honest we were all so sick and tired of her putting down our help/ideas we told her to shave her head. That's it. Plain and simple. We actually came up with the idea!

Sorry that you have decided to create a debate out of something so generous!

I'm done with this... Good grief...

should I start a new thread with all the info complete in one post so everyone understands and there are no confusions and close this thread.

IMO, I don't ever want to look at parts of this thread again... :(

I will still go through with this, I just want everyone to understand how I'm doing things since it is my hair. Sorry, just feeling a little down now.
